The Al Pastor tacos were the best ones! Borh salsas on the table were spicy! It seemed that the regulars were eating Huaraches. I will be trying one next!
The funny part was the old man singing karaoke during dinner! -

Can't beat $1 tacos on Tuesdays. I got 5 tacos, and they were very filling. They also make chorizos in house, and it's fantastic. I shared a chorizo chimichanga with a friend, and it's probably the best chimichanga I've had in years. Perfectly crunchy tortilla. Goes without saying, but service was excellent too.
Long story short, great food, great service, and great price. Def coming back in the future. -

I went here with a couple friends for drunchies on a Friday night. We walked into karaoke and had a fantastic time. We ate our tacos while singing to the piano man! The pastor and carne asada tacos were so tender and juicy. We also got the chicken and barbacoa, which were just alright. In addition to that, we ordered pina coladas. They were just the right amount of sweet and alcoholic. If you're looking for a great time after a long Friday night, I would recommend!

Great for late night steak tacos! The karaoke on the weekend is really why you go there. It is a site to see!

I was in town for a Christmas party months ago, and post-party, my friend got tacos from this joint to go (at like 2am mind you), and I scarfed down 5 of them on my own. On my next trip to Wicker Park, I was sure that I had to have these tacos again, whether it was for nostalgia or to confirm that these were some bomb ass tacos.
My bf and I walked into a wonderfully festive restaurant on a Sat night and sat down at the booth. I ordered a large horchata, and I wish I had gotten a small because the cup was humongous. The horchata was delicious and would be a tiny bit better if they sprinkled some cinnamon. My bf got coke in the actual glass coke bottle and said it was the best coke he's ever had LOL. We ordered chips and guac (which btw is like $8), and both got taco plates with only carne asada tacos. The chips are warm, fresh, slightly oily and have a nice crunch. The tacos were just as I remembered, savory, juicy, and seasoned just right... And they're cheap! what more could you want? I wish I had just ordered four tacos and forego the rice and beans (pretty standard). You can bet anytime that I'm craving tacos and in Chicago, I will be at El Taco Veloz.
P.S. they were gearing up for kareoke when we were leaving, and if I wasn't meeting my friends, I would have stayed and sung my heart out. I also wanted to note that some of the reviews said that the service was terrible, and I thought quite the opposite. While we had all the servers stop by at some point, they were really sweet, kind and helpful.
